The Yaris GR took the automotive world by storm upon its release - the return of a true hot hatch reminiscent of the 90’s golden era. Gazoo Racing took the Yaris and injected it with true racing pedigree to make a wild pocket rocket. A manual gearbox, a small and lightweight body coupled with a visceral driving experience, AWD and a punchy 1.6L turbo 3 cylinder engine that could embarrass an alarming number of cars with a much bigger price tag; just what the enthusiasts want!
This Yaris GR came into Auto Protek for a stage one paint correction polish to remove scratches, swirl marks and defects, to be followed up and protected with Gyeon Infinite 5 year ceramic coating. In addition, the Evo Corse rally wheels and HKS exhaust were also ceramic coated for ultimate protection and an unbeatable finish.
The process began with our intensive 8 stage decontamination hot wash, including clay bar treatment, to rid the vehicle of any fallout, contaminants, tar or sap. Once fully washed and prepared, an inspection video is shared with the client to confirm and recommend the best course of action for the car.
Paint correction, when done correctly without any tricks, fillers or superficial gloss enhancers, is generally the most time consuming part of any detail. It’s imperative to use the correct lighting to achieve optimal results, especially on colours like white which can hide imperfections fairly well - until the right light hits it! This Toyota received a stage one paint correction; a highly effective balance of moderate to advanced cutting to remove imperfections, but finished to a high gloss standard.
Once the polishing was completed, the bodywork is degreased and prepared for coating to ensure optimum curing conditions. The Gyeon Infinite ceramic coating was then carefully and thoroughly applied and allowed to cure.
The white Evo Corse alloy wheels added a fitting rally heritage touch to this GR, and to ensure they stay protected and easy to clean, they were removed from the car and coated with Gyeon Q2Rim inside and out. Additionally, the brand new HKS dual exhaust tips were also ceramic coated. Finally, the entire vehicle was thoroughly detailed both inside and out to complete the job.
