Fast wagons have always been cool; heavyweight heroes with equal measures of massive power and practical space, and the Audi RS6 Avant is certainly no exception.
As this RS6 was a couple of years old, it visited us for some paint correction and a protective ceramic coating to both restore the finish of the paintwork and to keep it looking glossy, and ensure easy maintenance, as well as application of PPF to some of the softer gloss black trims which are especially prone to scratching.
The first step was a deep 8 stage decontamination wash and clay bar to remove all dirt, debris, tar and fallout. It was then dried and taken into our detailing unit to be thoroughly dried both by hand and blower. The vehicle was then fully inspected using a selection of lighting tools to highlight any defects in an inspection video, which is then sent to the customer for review before moving onto the next big step - paint correction!
After reviewing the video and a discussion, the owner of this RS6 opted for stage 1 paint correction upon our recommendation, allowing us to effectively remove the swirls, scratches and various other defects. This process generally takes around 2 days alone for a car this size, and includes correction to all gloss black and carbon trims, not just the paintwork.
Once the paint correction is completed, the gloss black trim protective PPF is applied (in this instance A, B and C pillars and wing mirrors), then the bodywork was prepared for the Gyeon Infinite 5 year ceramic coating, using a combination of a degreaser and Gyeon Prep to ensure a perfectly clean surface for the coating to bond to. The ceramic coating is generously applied to all bodywork and trims, before being allowed to cure fully prior to collection.
In addition to the above, the whole vehicle received an interior and exterior detail to complete the job, ensuring a stunning overall finish for a happy customer.
